FREEDOM OF THE PRESS

The News Tower was originally developed by former Ohio Governor James Middleton Cox during Miami’s land boom to serve as the headquarters of The Miami Daily News and Metropolis (soon to become The Miami News). At 289 feet, it was the tallest building in the southern United States and Miami’s first skyscraper.
